Storyline:
Jason thought his inheritance was going to be the gift of money and lots of it. Was he ever in for a big surprise. Based on the best-selling book "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall, the story sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: "What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?" Jason had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole "reading of the will" thing would be another simple cash transaction, that his Grandfather's money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life...

A series of unlikely, but not impossible events, that made me laugh and cry, and I suppose - most importantly - think. The movie especially made me aware of the "gifts" that I'm giving my teen-age daughter, and how she will be affected in life by how and what I am 'gifting' her. It's a movie for everyone, even those who think that they are above message movies. Wonderful and uplifting!

What a nice change from main stream movies! Thought provoking, sad yet uplifting. Makes you think about lifes priorities. Great family movie!

A great story! Really enjoyed the positive message that came from an interesting, well-acted movie. A couple things seemed far-fetched (no money for a month, prison in Ecuador) but overall believeable and true-to-life. The extended Stevens family was caricature but the main characters (Jason, Alexia, Mr. Hamilton) were believeable. I really liked this movie and I recommend it!

Go to this movie if you want to see the rewards of leading a good life and need a reminder that money is the root of all evil. It's a bit unrealistic, however, and for a movie that tries to prove money does not lead to happiness, money seems to be the main character of the movie. With the exception of the male lead character played by Drew Fuller, a former model, the cast is terrific. He is like "a young Rob Lowe" and his transformation, though painstakenly documented, is not very convincing. There are lots of cliche's about dysfuntional rich families. That combined with poor film editing gives it sort of Hallmark TV quality.

We need to produce more movies like this one. A great family movie. Makes you think about your own life and how you are living it. Highly recommend seeing this.
